       Banza is a small Barangay of Butuan City; found in the north-eastern part of the city. It is exactly located between 8’15’12.02 North and 125’33’15.46 East. It is bounded by Giasan Magallanes in the north; Mahogany in the south; Bonbon in the east and; Maug in the west.It has a total land area of 8, 644 hectares. Occupied by a total population of 3,215.

       Majority of the population of Banza are farmers. It is because of the lush farmland offered by Banza. Most of these farmers cultivate the lumbia palm (source of unaw) – because of its high yield and efficiency. The lumbia palm also embodies the history of this barangay for the lumbia palm has been around since the time Butuanons existed.

       As the most historical barangay of Butuan, Banza is currently developed as a tourist spot for it not only to become a historical and old barangay but also a money-generating one. Sites like the Agusan River and Banza Church Ruins are currently renovated.
